Cool Tooth Tip for Red Wine Drinkers

Do you drink red wine? With the popularity of wine in the U.S. and even North Carolina Wineries popping up at an alarming rate, we thought this is a great tip to share! We have seen more and more local wines being featured in Raleigh, NC bars and restaurants, so Moore Smiles wants to make sure we share little interesting tips like this to keep your teeth pearly white.

  • Brush your teeth an hour or so before drinking. The dyes in red wine will stick to your plaque.
  • Skip the white wine. If you plan to drink red later, avoid white wine, which will “prime” your teeth for the coating of color.
  • Take regular sips of sparkling water to rinse the purple-gray colors away. This will help prevent staining. You can also eat high-fiber foods to “chew” away your red wine stains.
